DiskCryptor

DiskCryptor is an open-source program that allows you to encrypt one or more partitions of a hard drive or an USB support.

With DiskCryptor, you can :

• Encrypt one or more partitions of your computer to make your data confidential
• Encrypt an USB drive : USB key, external hard drive, ...
• Encrypt the system partition of your computer where Windows is installed

Important : data can't be recovered without the password that will be used for their encryption. This means that in case of loss of the password, data recovery software will not be able to recover your data.

Then, if you want to encrypt the system partition where Windows is installed, you will need to :

• change the mode of your BIOS to LEGACY instead of UEFI/GPT, because UEFI/GPT is not supported by DiskCryptor
• convert your GPT hard disk to MBR (the standard partition table system)
