Live CD

Live CDs are widely used by IT professionals, but you can also use them for free and easily as an individual.

They are called live CDs, because they run entirely in the RAM of your computer and don't require any installation on the computer where you use them.

Among the known live CDs, you will find :

  • Hiren's Boot CD (HBCD) : which allows you to start on a mini Windows XP (ideal for old PCs) and which allows you to launch many interesting programs
  • Hiren's BootCD PE (HBCD PE) : which allows you to start on a mini Windows 10 (ideal for recent PCs) and which allows you to use the new versions of the programs which were available on Hiren's Boot CD.
  • Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) : which allows you to test your hardware and even reset the BIOS settings if needed
