WAMP

WampServer is an open-source, free and ready to use solution that allows you to install and configure a complete local web server in 1 click :

• Apache : the most famous and most used web server on Linux servers (Debian, Ubuntu, ...).
• PHP : a programming language for creating dynamic sites, especially when you also use a database.
• MySQL : the database server. All professional sites use a database (usually MySQL under Linux and MS SQL under Windows Server).
• phpMyAdmin : PHP script to manage your MySQL database through a web interface usable from any modern web browser (Firefox, Google Chrome, ...).

Note that these 4 components are also those that most web hosts will provide. In fact, most web hosts use servers under Linux. Which involve the use of Apache, ... which are programs from the Linux world.

Note : to install WAMP, you will need the "C++ libraries". To do this, follow our tutorial "Installing WAMP and its add-ons" shown below. This tutorial will also allow you to easily configure it.
