Now that you know you can create a "Gigabit Ethernet" network connection, you're probably wondering where you can buy these network adapters.
The answer is that it's a bit more complicated than buying a simple high-tech device online from Amazon or other well-known and reliable sites.
Indeed, Hirschmann Multimedia doesn't sell directly to individuals. It's therefore necessary to go through one of the resellers (Cebeo, Rexel, ...) or a store which sells their products.
To know them, just go to the "Points de vente" tab of their "Hirschmann Multimedia" site.
If necessary, inquire at the various electrical or computer stores near you by sending them an e-mail to find out if they work with one of the Hirschmann Multimedia resellers.
If so, ask them if they could order these network adapters for you.
To start, you must connect the coaxial cable provided to the male socket on the wall of your home.
You must therefore connect the female socket of the coaxial cable provided.
Once the cable is connected, here is what it gives.
On your network adapter via coaxial, connect the other end of the coaxial cable to its female connector.
This time, you must therefore connect the male plug of this same coaxial cable.
The coaxial female jack on your network adapter via coaxial matches the "CATV + MoCA" connector shown on the back of the network adapter.
Now that the coaxial cable is connected, move on to the easier part of the connection.
To start, you must connect the supplied network cable to the RJ45 port of your network adapter via coaxial.
Note : this network cable has no sense, so don't worry here.
This is what the RJ45 connector of your network cables (UTP cables) looks like.
The network cable is connected to your network adapter via coax.
Now, plug the other end of your network cable (UTP cable) into the network connector (RJ45) on your computer.
Here is what it looks like.
Now, your network cable is plugged into your computer.
Finally, feed this 1st network adapter via coaxial thanks to the micro USB connector of this one.
To do this, you must plug in the micro USB connector of the remaining cable that came with your network adapter.
This micro USB cable is plugged into your network adapter.
To power your network adapter, connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on your computer.
Note : if needed, you can also buy or use an AC adapter that allows you to plug a USB cable into a wall outlet. However, make sure that it is capable of providing at least 3 W of power. For the voltage of 5 volts direct (DC), this is always the same.
Now, your network adapter is powered by your computer.
In our case, the arrival of the Internet and various cables in our house didn't have sockets by default.
If this is also the case in your home, refer to the assembly videos provided by Hirschmann Multimedia to learn how to strip a coaxial cable.
If necessary, ask a friend or an electrician to plug this cable into a suitable coaxial plug.
Attention : if you need to place a coaxial plug at the end of this coaxial cable yourself, make sure to use a male plug (as in the pictures below).
