Install Windows 10 on your MSI GE60 2OE laptop

11. Install the touchpad driver : Elantech

For the "Elantech" touchpad driver, all you have to do is install the one available for Windows 8.1.

Launch the downloaded file and the "ELAN Input Device Driver Installer" program will appear.
Click on Next.

As you can see, the driver was installed without problem.

Restart your laptop PC as requested.

And the installed utility will work too.

If you look in the device manager, you will see that the "ELAN Smart-Pad" device is correctly installed and present in the "Mice and other pointing devices" section.

12. Install the driver : ENE Radio Switch

If you look in the device manager, there is still a driver missing for an unknown device.

If you look at its hardware ID (as explained earlier), you will find : VEN_ENE&DEV_0110.

While searching the Internet, you may come across the "[Solved] GT70 fast access touch panel not working" page on the official MSI forum.
By reading the first 2 messages on this page, you will see that this hardware identifier on your MSI laptop PC corresponds to the Radio Switch (which was also available for Windows 8.1 for your MSI GE60 2OE laptop PC).

If you look in the Windows 8.1 drivers available for your "MSI GE60 2OE" laptop PC, you will find the "ENE Radio Switch for Airplane Mode" device and the version available is "1.1.0.0".
If you look in the name of the suggested file for Windows 8.1, you will see that this version "1.1.0.0" of the driver is compatible with Windows 8.1, but not Windows 10.

If you download this version "1.1.0.0", you will find the compatibility information in the file "Release.txt" present in the downloaded compressed (zip) file.

As stated by the manufacturer of this driver :

• it's a driver for the "ENE KB9X Radio Switch" device
• this is version 1.1a
• this driver version is compatible with Windows 8.1

If you look at the bottom of the text file, you will see that version "1.1a" is an update to support Windows 8.1.

To find a more recent version of this driver to be compatible with Windows 10, go to the driver download page for Windows 10 of another MSI GE60 laptop.
In this case, for the "MSI GE60 2QD Apache" model of the "MSI GE60" range, you can find version "1.1.2.0".
If you look in the name of the proposed file, you will see that this new version of the "ENE Radio Switch" driver is compatible with Windows 10.

Download this file, unzip it and open the "Release.txt" file there.

As you can see, this is again a driver for the same device : ENE KB9X Radio Switch.
However, this is version "1.1b" (which is therefore a little more recent than the other) and this driver is compatible with Windows 10.

If you look at the bottom of the file, you will see that version 1.1b is an update to support Windows 10.
And if you look just below, you'll find information about the 1.1a update targeting Windows 8.1.

You can therefore easily install this new version on your MSI GE60 2OE laptop PC by launching the "Setup.exe" file.

As expected, the driver installed without problem.

If you look in the "Human Interface Devices" section of the Device Manager, you will find your "Radio Switch Device" device.

As you can see, all the drivers have been installed on your MSI GE60 2OE Laptop PC and therefore it can work fine on Windows 10, although Windows 10 is not officially supported by MSI for this laptop model.
