3. Overview of your backup on Acronis Cloud

The easiest way to view your backup on Acronis Cloud is to click the arrow to the right of your backup name, then click: Open location.

You will arrive at a domain similar to "cloud-wr-eu2.acronis.com" with a web interface named "Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (True Image)".
As you can see, the backup selected in the "Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (True Image)" program will be automatically selected in the Acronis Cloud web interface.
At the moment, there is only one backup (version). So, this is the 1st backup of the "Full" type.

By clicking on it, you will see the list of partitions that are in this disk backup.
In the case of a Windows PC (installed in EFI mode), you will find at least 3 partitions:

  • (C:): the partition containing the Windows folder, the application folders (Program Files, ...).
  • \Device\HarddiskVolume2: the EFI partition for booting Windows in EFI mode.
  • \Device\HarddiskVolume4: the recovery partition with Windows RE (Windows Recovery Environment) which allows you to repair Windows startup when Windows no longer starts.

As expected, the "(C:)" partition contains the usual folders:

  • Program Files
  • Program Files (x86)
  • ProgramData
  • Users
  • Windows
  • and more.

Note: the "Documents and Settings" item is a hidden link in recent versions of Windows that redirects to the "Users" folder.
The "Documents and Settings" folder was used until Windows XP for users' personal folders.

As you can see, the partition "\Device\HarddiskVolume2" contains an "EFI" folder.

As you can see, in this "EFI" folder, you will find a "Boot" folder.
Which indicates that this partition is used to boot Windows in EFI mode.

For the partition "\Device\HarddiskVolume4", you will see that it contains a folder "Recovery".

In this "Recovery" folder, you will find a subfolder "WindowsRE" (which refers to the Windows Recovery Environment).

In file explorer, you don't see these partitions, because they are system partitions and are therefore hidden.
To see them, right-click "Manage" on "This PC".

In Windows Disk Management, you will see that the backed up disk has at least 3 partitions:

  • partition 2 (= "\Device\HarddiskVolume2"): the EFI system partition (used for Windows boot).
  • partition 4 (= "\Device\HarddiskVolume4"): the recovery partition (which corresponds to Windows RE to repair Windows boot in particular).

If you go back to the "Account" section of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (True Image), you will be able to see the used space on "Acronis Cloud Storage", as well as the expiration date of your subscription (or trial period) for this feature.
Note that you can also access your Acronis account by clicking the "Open Online Dashboard" button.

You will arrive at an Acronis login page with the domain "cloud.acronis.com".
Log in with the same Acronis account that you used on the "Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (True Image)" program.

Once logged in, you will see the name of your PC appear, as well as information regarding its backup.

If you go to the "Backups" section of this web interface, you will see that the site and domain used will be different.

If you go to the "Account" section of this "Acronis Cloud" site, you will be able to see again the space used on your Acronis Cloud account, as well as the expiration date of your subscription to this paid service.
