4. Touch BIOS (Gigabyte motherboards only)

Touch BIOS is a program created by Gigabyte and therefore works with motherboards from this manufacturer, supported by this program. More info in our tutorial "Gigabyte - Change the BIOS settings by a Windows program".

To change the BIOS boot order by the Touch BIOS program, go in the "Startup Disk".

In this category, use the options "First Device", "Second Device", ...
Generally, we put the CD / DVD drive (CDROM) at first and at second, the hard drive. Because it allows you to reinstall Windows by simply inserting the bootable CD / DVD in the CD / DVD drive. Once the CD / DVD removed, the computer will automatically reboot on the hard disk.

For these three options, you can see the different devices on which you can boot :

  • Hard drive
  • CDROM : The CD/DVD drive
  • USB-xxx : Generic types
  • Legacy LAN : Start on the network. To recover a ROM from a TFTP server to start such a Live CD over the network. See "Windows Server - PXE - Custom Menu (Based on syslinux)" tutorial for more information.
  • Disable : No device
