VirtualBox

VirtualBox is a virtualization solution known by individuals, because it is free. This virtualization solution can virtualize Windows, Linux and Mac 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit.
Then, you can also virtualize other operating systems such as Solaris, OpenSolaris, OpenBSD or OS based on knownLinux distributions.

Currently, this virtualization solution is developed by Oracle, but was originally created by InnoTek in 2007. Company which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2008.

The main highlight of VirtualBox is that it's free.
However, if you are a professional, you'll quickly use a VMware or Citrix solution.

Finally, know that it is also possible to download and install the free pack "VM VirtualBox Extension Pack" to support :

• the USB 2.0
• the Remote Desktop provided by VirtualBox
• the network booting (PXE)

Note : don't expect there to run a game, because the graphics card is a basic graphics card.
For this, you should use a VMware solution that will provide you a SVGA graphics card.

Important : since VirtualBox 6.0, 32-bit hosts (physical PCs) are no longer supported.
From this version, you will need to :

• use the 64-bit version of Windows on your physical PC (if your hardware (CPU, motherboard, ...) allows it
• OR use the latest version of VirtualBox 5.2 (but support stopped at the end of July 2020) available on the "Download VirtualBox (Old Builds): VirtualBox 5.2" page of their site
